How to bid for social housing

I I live in social housing and I need to move and my housing manager has said I can move and he has sent me an application form but I do not know the bidding process because I have never done it before because when I got my social housing flat it was 30 years ago and in those days you did not went on a point system and you got one point for every year you stayed on the housing list

This time I will need to bid. Do i bid online a d how will i know who elde is bidding and if several bid who gets the property. Is it the same as an estate agent where u look online at properties and decide on one. My housing association are nlt telling me much

I'm with a housing association not the council and I've tried to call their helpline and they say you have to speak to your housing manager so I say can you ask him to ring me and it's been over a week and I'm chasing chased and he's not come back to me
