Recommend a burglar alarm? Amco/Texecom has been useless

Please talk to me about burglar alarm and smoke alarm systems!

We have had a system with AMCO, which installedTexecom sensors, but it's been worse than useless. We keep getting so many false alarms, especially on the smoke sensors, despite having replaced them multiple times. This happens even when the house is empty and/or no one is cooking, dusting, decorating etc. I'm confused, because Texecom is a pretty big company, so I'm not sure if I have just been unlucky, or if the installers did something wrong.

We're really looking for recommendations on manufacturers, not on local installers.

In general, we'd prefer a model where we buy the entire system, so higher upfront costs but lower monthly costs. So not Verisure, which does the opposite.

The system needs to be wireless.

We do not have pets.

We do not want an app-only thingy not connected to a monitoring centre but having an app would be nice

We want a monitored system, connected to a local keyholding company (which we pay for separately - so if the alarm goes off and we're away, they get contacted and go inspect the house).

Ideally, we'd like smoke sensors in the hallway and a heat sensor in the kitchen (otherwise a smoke sensor in the kitchen goes off every time we cook).

I can think of:

ADT
Verisure (I'd rule them out because they're too expensive in the long run)
Texecom (the ones AMCO installed for me)
Pyronix (Banham is among those using them)
Risco - this is interesting because it has motion sensors with integrated cameras, like Verisure

Thoughts? Thanks!
