How long did your house sale and buying

How long did your house sale and buying a new property take.

Just put our house on the market (well, going on tomorrow) and I've discovered I'm pregnant...!

So having a little panic about logistics.
We have nowhere lined up at all yet but we are moving 50 miles away so viewings might take some time.

Market isn't the best so may take us a while to sell/ find somewhere.

How long did the whole process take for you? I'm just concerned about transfer of care as I had a lot of pregnancy issues first time around

We first put our house for sale May 2023. Accepted offer and found house to buy June 2023. Chain collapsed October 2023.
sold again November 2023 and found a house in December 2023. Completed end May 2024. Very long, stressful and painful

House put up For Sale September 2023. October 2023 accepted offer. December 2023 Buyer pulled out due to problem with his Buyers house. February 2024 offer accepted from new Buyer. June 2024 ready to exchange, Buyer pulled out. Absolute time waster. Lost the will. June 2024 accepted offer from new Buyer. I live in hope.
We bought our (empty) home in 2019, no chain. Problem with boundary had to be resolved by Land Registry. 6 months from our offer accepted to completion. The problem that had to be resolved was approx 12 inches of land the owner had taken that he was not entitled to.

Ours was pretty quick. Put on the market and accepted an offer the next day(!!) (start of May 2024). Found a property to move to two weeks later. Completion was 16th August.

Offer accepted, house on market and got buyer in October 23, the place that we were buying just didn't move. Gave up in April 24, had offer accepted on new place. Buyer pulled out and resold also in April. Still waiting to exchange and complete, am hoping it will be by the end of September. But honestly losing the will at the moment our buyer is so slow with everything!

Put on the market late July 2019, offer August 2019 and found another place also August 2019. Completed December 2019.

May to August is 3 months.
I'm almost 2.5 months along (since my offer accepted) & things are proceeding at snail's pace. I'm predicting 4 months from offer to completion.

House sold in a week (2 weeks ago) with no chain either side. Buyers get their cash released in November and hoping to have moved by Christmas...... maybe a tad optimistic. I do live in an area where houses sells quickly.
