We're in the process of selling our house. Buyers had their survey last week. I was home but stayed out of the way.
I did notice though, that the surveyor seemrd to spend quite a while outside the front in one area.
I thought it was a bit odd so after he left I went out to try and figure out what he was looking at.
I noticed under our bay window a crack that steps down in the mortar, maybe across 4 bricks or so on the diagonal. It's not wide, maybe 1 or 2 MMS but now I'm freaking out a bit
Does this sound like subsidence? Obviously I'll know soon enough when our buyers have their report back but I'm trying to get prepared for any potential bad news.
The house is a 1930s end of terrace. I think our soil MIGHT be clay because we're in London.
