Surface mounted electrical sockets?

Hello,
we need some new sockets installed. The electrician has quoted £250 for surface mounted and £450 for cased into the wall.
For cased in we’d also need to pay a plasterer to make good the wall.
We are not sure which to go for. The cheaper option is tempting but could it make it difficult to sell the property in future? Thanks for any advice.

I'd pay the extra, surface mounted would look a bit naff IMO- would the wires also be surface mounted? You'd end up with trunking visible.
Making good could easily be DIYed if you are up to giving it a go.
