Hi, does anyone live in fleetwood? I'm looking to move to the area but have had a walk down the back streets around Balmoral Terrace and seen lots of boarded up houses/flats and rubbish in people's gardens. A far cry from the pretty areas around near the euston gardens and seafront.

Are there any areas in Fleetwood that are worth looking at? I really like the area around the North Euston and the very grand looking apartments near them along the seafront.

Is Clevelys/Thonton Clevelys and Bispham out of your budget?

Hi @KievLoverTwo

I prefer fleetwood for the wildness of the seafront and it's quiet but the boarded up properties shocked me.

Along the NW coast, Fleetwood, Blackpool and Morecombe all have reputations for being quite rough: hence directing you to other, nearby places.

The sea is still wild in less populated places with lower crime, such as Knott End, which is opposite Fleetwood but is a pretty safe area with (some) amenities for a small place.

Remember there are trams along some of those parts, so if you want access to the wilder parts of the sea, you can just hop on one.

The Rossall area has some lovely and expensive property. Central Fleetwood has seen better days, unfortunately. Bispham, Anchorsholme, Norbreck and Cleveleys are all much better to live in, imo.

Lytham is also nice - and has the sand dunes up to St Annes.

It's nice but is end of estuary rather than 'wild sea'. And in St Annes the sea is usually a heck of a long way out!Grin

We sometimes go for a walk along the shore from knott end, I rather like it...fancy taking the ferry over to Fleetwood sometime just for the ride. While it can seem rather out of the way, I think it probably has better access than tucked round the corner in Fleetwood - when we moved to this area, DH's colleagues warned that a big problem living on the Fylde was the amount of time it takes to get to go anywhere else.
