In a chain of 5 all progressing well and getting ready to potentially exchange in September. We have just found out that the vendor at the top of the chain has sadly passed away, and now the property has to go through probate. Does anyone have any experience of a situation like this? I had read on another thread that if there is a sale quite far progressed, that probate can be treated as urgent, does anyone know if this is correct?
Any advice appreciated. We are considering breaking the chain and moving in with family so that we do not lose our sale, however, we are cautious that it could be many months before probate is granted.
