Question about ceiling lights

I have bought a ceiling light fixture that is non dimmable. If I change my light switch to a dimmer switch and buy some dimmable light bulbs can I convert it to a dimmable light?

Also people with ceiling light fixtures with multiple bulbs, how do you stop yourself from being blinded by all the light? Buy the lowest wattage bulbs possible?

This should work providing its dimmable bulbs and a dimmer switch

It doesn’t work when it’s regular bulbs and a dimmer switch, they buzz / flicker / go crazy

I have spotlights and no dimmers or anything at the moment I HATE them, it’s like Blackpool illuminations…planning to change it to dimmable bulbs etc if I can

Provided your neutral runs to the switch it should be OK.

Not sure you can have a dimmable switch without the neutral, but maybe for some you can.

I'm guessing a DIY dunce like me would need an electrician to check to see if the neutral runs to the switch first?

Love the look of a fixture with multiple bulbs but I'm worried it'll be way too bright! I feel for you!

If you take off the cover and see a blue cable, you have a neutral.

If you want a metal switch, it needs an earth.
