In the process of buying my first home. We're 8 weeks in. Mortgage offer received and survey done. The searches have just returned this week but I've been advised by my solicitor that she's unable to raise any enquiries yet as the sellers solicitor still hasn't sent the draft contract over. According to the sellers solicitor it's the seller holding things up and he has chased her a couple of times.
I rang the estate agent this morning who in turn rang the seller. Apparently she's been away with work and just forgot but apologised and said she would sort it out as soon as possible. It's holding things up so hopefully she understands the urgency of getting it done.
Does anyone know how long this normally takes or when we can expect to receive it? Is it something that takes a couple of days or weeks? Does the sellers solicitor have to review it first before sending it over to mine? Pretty annoyed that I've managed to get a mortgage offer and survey done yet she couldn't fill out a couple of forms and I wish my solicitor had told me sooner so I could have chased a couple of weeks ago!
