How do I pick home insurance?

Mine is up for renewal and I've not made a conscious decision - always stayed with LV.

However the renewal price is a bit more than I expected -.£350.

Where do I start to look for home and contents insurance?

I would prefer to also get home emergency cover and accidental damage maybe.

Some tips here. I always use one comparison site. Make sure you click through and check all details are entered correctly and that you have the level of coverage you need.

Your current provider will always try to rip you off with renewal.

Try one of the comparison sites like Go Compare it's really straightforward and you can select the things you want so it will try to compare like for like.

Money saving expert lead you through 3 price comparison websites. It should be much cheaper than your renewal quote. If you are organised enough to plan ahead by 3 weeks or so, you will get an even better price.
Watch out for all the added extras they try and persuade you to have at the end. It can really bump the price up.
