Glass Juliet Balcony: cleaning impossible????

Hi there,

We're about to buy an expensive sliding door and a glass Juliet Balcony to go behind for our loft conversion.

Will I regret it and will the sliding doors become disgusting at the bottom as I won't be able to clean them?

More and more people are getting these so it can't be that bad, but I'd like to check I'm not making an expensive mistake.

If you have one, are you happy with it and does it stay clean just with a rinse from above?

Grateful for help! Thank you!

Why not tilt and open French doors? Sliding don't make sense from a cleaning or ventilation / rain perspective.

Self cleaning glass would solve it. I have it. It's great

Thanks. So you both have this set up Sophia and Kiev?
The pole looks good but I'm not sure we'll have space to go under the glass balcony from below. It will be tight to the wall for safety. So you can only clean from the side when you open the door and of course in that case you can't reach the one you've just slided over.

Kiev: you got cleaning glass on your sliders? Which brand is it? Origin, Glideline and Cortizo all say self cleaning glass does work and don't offed it. Strangely Juliet balcony makers do offer it, go figure.

French doors/bifold would bump into bedside table etc. Architect said sliding is really only good option. We'll have plenty of ventilation with the veluxes on the other side. We've also got seduced by the super thin 20mm mullion giving basically an uninterrupted view... but if it gets opaque and gross in a year it is a false good idea!

Any one else who's done it and happy with it?

I don't have the same set up. But it's on windows that cannot be accessed form outside to be cleaned. The self cleaning windows are fantastic. I wish the whole place had them!
