Is Mortimer good area ?

We are searching around to buy a house. Is anyone lives in Mortimer? Is it good place to live for family? If i give you a option between
Mortimer and Caversham, which one would you choose to live ? Considering for location, safety, commute London, etc. Thank you

They are very different areas, Caversham much busier and easier to commute into London from. There’s a fast train into Paddington or the Elizabeth Line into central London. A quieter area you could also consider is Twyford - also on the Elizabeth line.
I would choose Caversham over Mortimer which is just a boring village. But Caversham does have significantly more traffic.

We find out that there is massive AWE site in Burghfield and Aldermaston which is 10 mins away to Mortimer. We just drove past from that site while we were on the way viewing the house. That put us off from Mortimer to be honest.
