Logistics of breaking the chain

We are completing shortly and moving into an air bnb until our purchase is ready to complete (likely three months)

if I redirect post to my parents house, can I then redirect again to our new home? I’m stressed about this as we will need to receive final bills and paperwork for our purchase etc. but also I have an upcoming court case for a sexual assault that I really don’t want new owners of our home getting etc.

is there anything else I need to consider while we are effectively homeless?

Yes, you can redirect twice. We found one or two got confused and still went to the first redirection. Make sure you set it up at least five working days in advance.

If your stuff is going into storage I would recommend having it redelivered the day after you complete on your purchase, as they can then deliver it asap in the morning so you have longer to get sorted. No risk of any delays then either.

We've just done similar, although did simultaneously exchange on the whole chain which I'd recommend if possible.

Unfortunately we’ve no choice- our onward purchase fell through and we are 4 weeks from completion on ours. We now have another house we are proceeding with, but it is unfair to ask the rest of the chain to wait another three months potentially while we complete so we will complete and persue our onward purchase separately

thank you for this info
