I contacted my MP for housing help

I contacted my mp for housing help as I am my mothers carer but she lives in another borough than me and has bad osteoarthritis of which I applied twice to the area she lives in where they declined me twice. I live quite a long way from her where I don't drive and sometimes trains aren't running. She recently has fallen and fractured her ankle and I feel helpless as I can't help her. My daughter recently overdosed due to wanting to be closer to her nan, aunt and cousins so my last hope was contacting my local mp who I have told everything and he said he has contacted the housing executive of the council I want to move to on my behalf. So you think I will get moved now even if its to surrounding boroughs of the area I want to go to as they can refer me.

I don't think your reasons are strong enough to be pushed up the list, I'm not saying you shouldn't be pushed up just that I don't think they will. All the councils are over subscribed and are finding it hard to house people on their own list let along take another family on. Can you try to exchange with another family or look at private renting

No unfortunately I don't think this will help. I don't think councils usually house people based on the facts you have given .

Sadly there is just nothing out there. I was homeless due to domestic abuse and the council (a London borough) was talking of housing me about 100 miles away. I work locally and would not have been able to get to work. Luckily I managed to find something privately.

A nudge from an MP can help to change things if there has been a mistake or an injustice.

If you're just not entitled to something, however unfair that seems, it won't do anything.
