Feeling railroaded

OK so we're just about to put property number one the market. We've started looking at houses and although I'd love to have a multi generational house I feel the one that DH and DSiL love is too big.

It's an ex guest house so DD and family can have the owners accommodation and we'd have the 6 bedroom guest rooms. There's also a large lounge and dining room, and I'd feel we'd be rattling around in it (us and DS1)

Just around the corner is the house I love, it's also an ex guest house but it's a bedroom smaller and has been used as a family home.

The problem is that DH is comparing everything to the first property, and so everyone else is saying it's perfect.

We've another round of viewings on Thursday and I'm hoping we find a property DH can love without it needing a loan or DD getting a mortgage on the rest of the cost. DH has always said that that we'll spend the proceeds of house 1 to buy a new house and house 2( probate house) for living expenses. The big house will eat into that so we won't have that as income.

Sorry it's so long, what are your views?

I’m not clear about who’s buying the house and who’s going to be living in it. How many bedrooms do you actually need?
