Off the back of my other question and poll. What type of survey.
barn conversion, converted recently, building 150 years old.

I'd always get the higher level, it's a massive purchase

Sorry if this seems stupid but what's the difference between a level 2 and a level 3?

0hshutupshirley · 09/08/2024 14:20

We're selling our house a 1930s end of terrace and buyers have booked a homebuyers survey. I think that's a level 2 right? Don't really know what that actually means though. Surveyor said it will probably take him an hour and a half to 2 hours.

Riva5784 · 09/08/2024 14:59

I would go for a level 3 on the basis of the building being 150 years old

If you are genuinely worried about structural stuff then you will need a structural survey anyway so I would go for level 2 and then get a stuctural if rhat flags anything suspicious.

@mumdone resurrecting this thread to see what you decided & how things are going?

Am considering buying a recently converted barn/outbuilding & am wondering what level to go for?
