Unarranged overdraft and mortgage offer - should I be worried?

I'm probably panicking for no reason but I just want to check.

I ordered a takeaway last night (£18) and completely forgot that the account is linked to a bank account that I never use or have money in (had it for years, keep meaning to close it)

I had a message from Santander this morning saying that I'd gone into an unarranged overdraft but that I wouldn't be charged for it. No mention of when it needed to be paid by but I transferred the money straight away and the payment cleared. I've never used an overdraft btw.

I'm worried now that this will affect my mortgage offer if it's flagged on my credit score. I've already had the offer but will this show up on my file when they complete final checks between exchange/completion? Could the offer be withdrawn because of this?

Oh no honestly no

this would not impact your credit rating … that’s all they look at plus what’s outgoing vs income

I don’t think £18 paid off immediately will worry any lender.

I had EoN mark my credit file for an unpaid bill it turned out they hadn’t actually issued, and our lender just called me and asked for proof that I settled it immediately (when they finally did contact me) and that it was for a previous address. They were very reasonable about it.

Get that account closed, OP.
