Dulux colour charts - can I use ‘adjacent’ colours?

Please forgive me - I’m pretty clueless about DIY and interior decor.

We’re having a bit of decorating done soon. We’ve chosen a colour for the walls - Dulux Earthen Stone 2. For the woodwork, would Earthen Stone 1 (as in, the adjacent shade on the colour chart) work? Or would it look too convoluted / like an accidental mismatch?

If relevant, it’s a bedroom in an 1810s cottage. Walls are in good nick but the woodwork’s cute and wonky. Thank you so much!

Totally fine but you might want more of a difference like no 1 and no 3 to make sure it looks deliberate and not accidental. I would try some testers and see what they look like. You can get cheap testers on the dulus website.
