Cost of rendering a terraced house

Hi All,

I live in a mid terraced house which is pebble dashed, and was wondering how much it would cost to render the front and back of the house.

I live in London but have no idea how much this would cost so would appreciate any guidance you can offer. Thank you.

I think it really depends on the condition of your pebbledash. I don't know about rendering but pebbledash removal is about 10k and I would imagine it would be cheaper than that because there's no restoration element? But if your pebbledash is crap it would all have to come off anyway I think.

How good a condition is the pebble dash? Are you talking about rendering over the pebble dash or removing the pebble dash and then rendering new? Have you considered external insulation also?

The pebble dash is not in a bad condition, I thought they would just render over it, can imagine to remove it would triple the price.

I think your local Facebook group is the place to ask if you're worried about asking builders/tradespeople with no idea how much it should be. I'm going to guess about 4k in London.

They would need scaffolding, then prepare the old pebble dash by hammering off the blown/lose bits, and removing old flaking paint and washing it.
To be honest, removing it and starting again is the best option.

Based on what?

Why do you ask?

You used to be able to get grants if you had special insulating render I think - it’s sprayed on so very smooth and quick.
