Best colour matched trades paints vs B&Q good home paint matched

Hi all

Has anyone ever used the B&Qs Goodhome colourmatched/mixed paint? Any feedback?
We’ve used valspar/valspar premium in the past & found it smelt very unpleasant & marks terribly.

Or is it worth paying (vastly) more for a trade paint? And if so which is the best? Decorator used Johnstones last time but using someone different this time & need to supply our own.

It will be colour matched to Farrow & Ball school house white but we need 20l so budget doesnt stretch to actual F&B unfortunately!

Thanks in advance!

Try decorators centre online- they provide Johnson's paint colour matched to F&B colours.

I tried the B&Q Goodhome paint- never again. Went on beautifully and covered well BUT it marks terribly. So much so that I kept the unopened tin as it will need retouching so much.

Another vote for johnstones acrylic durable Matt - it's excellent and very durable.
We've got it previously from brewers.

If it were a deep dark rich colour you are using I would suggest going with the trademark name because pigments are very expensive components of paint. Since you are using a white the difference in quality wouldn't be worth paying more for.

We have used Dulux colour match before and the quality was good.

Thepaintshed.com sells Johnstone's. I've used them a few times, next day delivery is free over £50 iirc

I recently used Tikkurila for colour match to a Little Greene paint shade to cover a particularly dark wall and it was a really good match, paint went on like a dream and has a lovely finish.
