Northenden is M22 usually, M23 likely to be one of the bordering areas in Wythenshawe?

They couldn't be more different areas - are they really both equally suitable transport and school wise?

Teo completely different areas.
Northwich is family friendly, great walks around the area. Good schools. Away from city centre, More rural.
Northernden is near the city centre. Cheaper housing but for a reason.

It depends where you need to be.

Northwich is firmly in Cheshire and an hour's train commute to the centre of Manchester if you need to go there. Its reputation suffers from being near some very nice and expensive areas, but it's generally a nice place. It’s a self-contained town with a "proper" high street compared to many towns nearby (ie it has a wide variety of chain shops rather than just a few and mainly cafes and restaurants).

Northenden is a suburb of Manchester. Not that well connected to central Manchester (no tram, would have to take buses) so a similar commute as Northwich would be but buses much less reliable than trains. It doesn't have many amenities in walking distance so prices reflect that. I have family there who seem to like it, but I wouldn’t choose it myself just because I’d want easier access to town/tram.

But M23 is the other side of Princes Parkway to Northenden, and is more Baguely/Wythenshawe Park/Wythenshawe Hospital. The park is great. The areas around it feel better than Wythenshawe itself (on the other side of the M56) but that whole tramline is prone to vandalism and can feel tense.

Those places are night and day.

I wouldn’t pick Northenden as it’s very built up, I hate the traffic there and it borders the biggest council estate in Europe. ( Wyrhenshawe) I spent a lot of time there when I was growing up and it really is like Shamless 😂

Northwhich is not to far from where I am now, lots of grassy walks, nice farm cafes, green areas, some areas are not to bad price wise.

Pick Northwich
