Single mum looking for property 300k near diverse London community

I grew up in London and have to commute in every fortnight (to Stratford) I also really want a social life and community!
I live in Gloucestershire now and it’s not diverse.
I have a Primary aged child and full custody, I need people and a network, green spaces would be great as I walk a lot.
I have a budget of 300k which I know is small but you have to start somewhere, any ideas anyone on good locations, growing communities or positive experiences?

From one overwhelmed mum!

Tottenham has lots of green spaces, wetlands, canal paths, and marshes. It’s very popular with young families (the taproom breweries are packed every weekend with families and they out on bouncy castles). At Tottenham Hale there is an Ofsted outstanding primary and secondary. It’s a 15 minute commute to Stratford via direct train, or you can cycle.

If you want something bigger there are some brand new flats in the village with shared ownership.

What kind of a commute are you prepared to do

If you need to commute to Stratford have you looked at Folkestone in Kent?

It has improved a lot and is getting more diverse. 50 minutes to London with the fast trains and you get the sea and nature.

Your budget is quite small for London unfortunately but you could get a house in Folkestone.

@SuziCCng

You would probably like the area around Victoria Park, the only problem is that flats around £300,000 there generally have just one bedroom.

This is an example:

As I’m not commuting all the time I’m flexible being outside London and do like green doves but don’t want to compromise on diversity and community being solo

If you are looking at Stratford, I'd start by maybe looking at places on the Elizabeth Line. What about Reading - it's a town verging on city so lots of facilities and definitely way more diverse than Gloucestershire. Although I haven't been there in the last 25 years so couldn't give you any up-to-date opinions!

Deptford or Lewisham - both very diverse, not super-expensive, both on DLR so half an hour or less to Stratford.

Look at Norwood Junction. Diverse and affordable.
Fast trains to London Bridge, then change to Jubilee for Stratford - 45 minutes commute.
