Kitchen wrapping - yay or nay?

We've bought a new place that needs some love. There's a fair bit to do and priorities mean that the kitchen is not high up the list. The kitchen is in good condition but not really our style/colour choice. What are your thoughts on/experiences of kitchen wrapping? A good short term (5 years?) solution or a bit naff and not worth it?

I painted mine in 2020 and vinyl wrapped the worktops in 2021 and they both look great still, even with the addition of a puppy who likes to wee up the cabinets!

I say go for it. Mine looks so different now, it was definitely worth it.

Do you have any photos? I'd love to have a look as I'm not brave enough to paint our cabinets :(

Sorry, forgot I'd replied! Have attached a couple of pictures, one is partway through so you can see what it was before I started painting. It was cream high gloss and I just slapped the paint on, was done summer 2020 and still looks good.

The vinyl wrap on the worktops looks really good, I thought it would look awful quickly and it hasn't. I do stupid things like cut things with Stanley knives and paint things on the worktops so I'm not allowed nice worktops!

This looks great, really tempted to try the worktop wrap for mine, do you remember if it was a specific brand you used or where you purchased the wrap from?

Oh wow @Southwest12! I love the blue colour! What colour is it and where from? Do the cabinets mark easily? Was there a lot of prep work involved? I really want to get started on mine after seeing your kitchen!

I painted my cabinets this weekend, used this range which is fab and doesn't need any priming- only took 2 coats and it looks great https://rustoleumcolours.co.uk/shop-by-project/kitchen-cupboards/

Which colour did you end up using? Did you use a roller or a brush to paint the cabinets? Which finish did you go for? I'm thinking of just going for it this coming weekend.

I used the matt finish, and bought the small roller set directly from Rustoleum. My cabinets are shaker style so I used a small brush for the recess bits but mainly did it all with roller. Just used one of the lighter green colours but painted onto navy blue so the coverage was good!

An old post, but @Southwest12 can I ask what paint you used on your cupboards and if you used a primer or sealed it with anything? I’d love to do something similar with my cupboards!
