How long before chasing?

Offer put forward late Monday afternoon. EA said the vendor would think about it and get back asap but I've still not heard anything.

I don't want to be pushy but does it really take this long to make a decision? Perhaps I'm being impatient. They've not had any other offers in the last couple of months as far as I'm aware and it's been on the market for just over 4 months. Feeling slightly disheartened.

How long would you wait before chasing? I don't want to piss them off but equally it would be nice to know what's their thoughts are.

If it was an attractive offer you would have heard quickly,

They don't think it's a good offer so are taking time to try to decide whether to go for it or hold out for a better one.

If you've not heard by then, I think give the EA a quick call/email tomorrow morning - not hassling just a friendly enquiry as to whether they've heard back from the vendor. If you leave it until Monday then that's a whole week which is too long to wait (and you'll go crazy thinking about it over the weekend), and it'll either prompt the EA to go back to the vendor or they'll have an answer for you but haven't got round to ringing you.

Thanks. My offer was 3k below the asking price so not a terrible/cheeky one given the current market I'd say but of course they might look at it differently.

Tomorrow's a good shout. I think I'll ring at lunch time tomorrow If I've not heard anything by then. Don't think I can wait until next week!! 😬😅

I’ve just literally accepted a very low offer I received on Saturday via EA at my door. I was waiting to see the offer in writing which has taken EA 4 working days to get to me. Now EA said they are starting to look at other houses. Talk about threatening. Are they serious or not?

Back story I lost a sale in March so understandably I’m treading with caution this time around…!

Do they have more bookings over the week-end? they could be waiting to see how they go.

Call the agent to let them know you need an answer because you’d otherwise like to book in viewings for the weekend. You could even book to see another house they have listed. That might nudge them to give you an answer. You could say the offer is only on the table until Friday. That way they can’t play you off any other people they have coming to see it on Saturday.
