Info from Land Registry

I'm a bit confused about what information you can get from the Land Registry if you don't own the property. Are there different levels of info depending on what you pay? Is anything available for free?

You can get a copy of the register and title so including a plan of property/ land/ boundaries (not hugely detailed though), covenants and the name of owner plus I believe any charges on the property, although may be wrong about the charges bit.
Cost £3 online which is instant but more and slower if you want a paper copy.

Thanks. Is there anything which shows the history, dates of sales/change of ownership, etc?

You can get sale dates for free here:

https://landregistry.data.gov.uk/app/ppd/

If you click on the arrow next to the amount the property sold for, it gives you a bit more information:

https://landregistry.data.gov.uk/data/ppi/transaction/CFC9085C-FD1F-9A70-E053-6B04A8C09D6A/current

So you can see it's a leasehold flat. You won't get change of ownership info there though.

No wonder I'm confused. I've tried several times & seem to find different offers of info each time. Today I can only find prices of £14.95. Recently I've seen £3 mentioned. The free info is available more reliably on estate agent sites, it seems to me (with photos & pricing history, sometimes), as I keep getting 'no results' on the LR site. I also thought I'd seen the LR say you can access info back to 1993, not 1995.

That £15 one is a swindle; careful what you're googling. Land Registry only charge £3 for info.

Here's the link you want for £3. Although it is a separate £3 for each of the title register and title plan:

With sale prices, it's often easier to put in a postcode on the land registry site referred to above. That will then bring up all the properties that have been sold in that postcode.

Search for land and property information

Find a property and get its title plan, title register and see who owns it
