Hopefully...

FTB. I viewed a house 2 weeks ago that's been on the market for 8 months. My first offer which was 10k under the asking price was declined straight away. I left the offer on the table but haven't stopped thinking about it since and have driven past it about 20 times 😂.

I phoned the agent this morning with another offer (5k under asking) and said it was my best and final. The agent said that the vendor was going to think about it and update me asap. I'm not sure if I'll hear back today but fingers crossed it's accepted. Trying not to get excited but it's hard.

Ahhh!!! This process is just awful isn't it 😅

It didn’t need to be stressful like this. As soon as you kept driving past the house and couldn’t stop thinking about it, then I would have increased my offer to the asking price as long as I could have afforded it and felt it wasn’t excessively overpriced!

Smileforyou · 17/07/2024 15:11

@LindaDawn I felt (well, still do, hence why I haven't offered asking) that it was overpriced so wanted to think about it before jumping in and throwing more money at it. I'm not sure how quickly other people do things but I wanted to make sure that I was doing the right thing and happy with the figure that I was offering. Obviously it's a big decision and I wasn't worried about it going anywhere as it's been on the market for so long.

Good luck 🤞

Twiglets1 · 17/07/2024 20:03

Good Luck @Smileforyou they would be mad not to accept your offer after being on the market for 8 months (mind you some people are nuts).

Smileforyou · 18/07/2024 09:04

Thank you!!

Haven't heard anything yet but it's only been 24 hours so I'm probably being impatient lol!! Hopefully I hear something today 🤞

Still nothing Sad

Would it be unreasonable for me to call the agents in the morning if I've not heard anything by then?

Totally fine to call the agents. Ours never mind being called with a polite enquiry. They are dealing with so many people and you are just being proactive and bumping yourself to the top of their to do list.
But the liklihood is they have been unable to contact the vendors and have no news yet.
Fingers crossed for you. You'll get there!

Smileforyou · 19/07/2024 11:52

It's been accepted 😃

The vendor actually emailed the agent yesterday but he had an emergency and didn't pick up her email until today so they called me this morning with the good news 😊
