Looking for colour opinions! Has anyone decorated their lounge in an F&B colour they really love and would recommend?

DH and I both like blue/green and pale pink/purple colours but mind blowing amount of choice!

Suggestions/ recommendations welcome :)

I went for Mizzle, a grey green. Somehow it's both neutral and definite in colour.

Flubadubba · 14/07/2024 09:19

What direction is it facing? How big is it? What vibe are you going for? (All make it easier to give a helpful answer!)

@FFlubadubba good point! North facing lounge so not great light. Medium sized square room with wooden floors which we'll keep for practicality.

Looking to create a light, relaxing space. We like the current effect of one feature wall so maybe colour on one wall and neutral/white on rest. Will try and attach current photo.

We have De Nimes on one wall and school house white on three walls. I love it

Skylight. It's blue, grey or green depending on the time of day and the light, and I love it. It's so restful and feels so calm in there.

Ooh great suggestions! Thanks so much everyone 😊

North facing lounge - slipper satin is perfect for this small space…looks different in all lights but certainly not magnolia!

We have a north-facing sitting room and have painted it in Joa’s White, which is a very nice off-white colour with a very faint pink tone, like the pages of an antique book. It’s a neutral but it’s cosy and warming.

Slipper Satin, recommended above, had a green tone I didn’t like in this light.

Inchyra Blue and Drop Cloth love it.

Setting plaster - lovely but not sickly warm pale pink. Looks good in all light

I am a die hard F&B fan. We have Borrowed Light in our hallway and morning room. It is a pale sky blue that has yellow or green tones depending on the light. I will say though that in the wrong house it’d be very 9 year old’s bedroom; in my old house it would’ve been dreadful but this house has a huge hallway with panelling and high ceilings. We have Setting Plaster in our front room which also changes colour from calming to moody depending on the time of day. I’ve just painted my backroom Whirlybird which is a bright green - again a colour which suits certain rooms.

It all depends on room size, ceiling height and light!

We went with Dulux in the end, but the colour is very similar to peignoir. North facing lounge. Everyone comments on what a nice colour it is.

Tailor tack. Very pale pink and I love it!

VesperLind · 14/07/2024 21:42

Setting Plaster in Dead Flat finish. It’s an amazing colour that changes with the light throughout the day. It’s pale pink, pale lilac-y, plaster-y and beige-y depending on the light. We went for colour drench which really enhances the effect.

Runninghappy · 14/07/2024 21:44

I have had peignoir in my last 3 builds - also dove tale.

CCSS15 · 14/07/2024 21:46

French grey - walls and ceiling - it's beautiful and changes colour throughout the day

There's some good farrow and ball face book groups you could join. Loads of photos and help in there 😁😁

What was the name of the Dulux paint colour please.

MrWatzisname · 14/07/2024 23:41

Dead Salmon

Crispynoodle · 14/07/2024 23:49

F&B Peignoir is lush and sort of dusky mauve

Namechanged4obviousreasons · 14/07/2024 23:58

Sulking room pink. It’s a lovely colour and lifts my spirits everyday, even with our miserable weather. Not F&B but Livid by Little Greene is my other favourite and this is after trying many, many greens. Three years in and I can’t imagine loving anything more.

I think it was muted blush.

I too have setting plaster in my living room! With a petrol blue velvet couch I needed something to calm the scene down. It works very well with the red-brown stained floor and the white woodwork.
