Advice on somewhere to move

I want to move next year and need some advice:

Looking for a town/village with good transport links and within a two hour drive of Birmingham and Hampshire. Schools are not important.

A good community life, safe and with lots of good walks nearby. Not too staid and up itself . Low crime.

I have lived in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire in the past so have some idea about those areas. I don’t know Hampshire at all and don’t know Wiltshire very well. I love Bath but wouldn’t want to live in Bath. I like Nailsworth and Painswick but wonder if there is enough to do there .

I love walking and nature, hate urban life and traffic jams, but being able to get to hospitals and culture is important. Budget of £800,000 max for a theee bed detached house with nice garden.

Not hugely familiar on villages but have lived and moved around the south coast

Romsey or the villages round there
Salisbury
Villages around Winchester? Bishop's Waltham etc
Wickham
Wimborne, Dorset
New Forest? Beaulieu, Lymington, Burley
The villages/towns round the South Downs are pretty too

Can you be more specific in Hampshire? If you need to get to New Milton or Southsea 2 hours would give you a very different search area to, say, Basingstoke or Aldershot. You can spend an hour travelling and not leave the county.

Yes that’s true. Family member planning to move near Southampton so I suppose somewhere where I can get to Southampton or Birmingham in two hours . Moving for family reasons.

One of the towns around Bristol. It's approximately 1.5 hours for us to the M5/M6 interchange and a similar time to the Dorset/Hampshire coast.

There are some lovely places around Oxford. Oxford is a gorgeous place.

Don’t really know Oxford well.

Malvern.

You'll get an amazing property for your money.

1 hr to Birmingham, 2 hrs to Hampshire, lovely community spirit, and an abundance of walking routes (not just hills).

I know Malvern well but it feels a bit cut off somehow and strangely stagnant. Lovely walking though/
