We are bottom of chain and are just waiting for one search to be returned - then we are ready to go.
I have caught up with the estate agent’s sales progressor and she advised that our vendor’s purchase hasn’t taken off the ground yet, despite having an offer accepted on that 1 month ago.
is this normal? Should I be chasing things to move along?

What does the rest of the chain look like? They won't want to start anything until their vendor has somewhere in case it falls apart and they've spent money. I think it was riskier of you to start without a complete chain, unless they indicated they'd sell even if they haven't bought anywhere else?

The vendor’s vendor is in a position where he has to find a house, but is prepared to move in with family to speed things up (at least that’s what we have been told).

I’m afraid you just have to be patient. Property sales regularly take 12 weeks or so. This is nothing unusual. Sometimes they can be quicker, sometimes they can be longer.

Thanks, we are not in a rush so prepared to wait, my only worry is that they have done absolutely nothing in a month, surely they should’ve at least sent out the contract pack by now?
