Hello All,

Need you suggestion in designing the open plan kitchen and living room. We have a bigger size family room in the basement ( which needs renovating for now). Please suggest if this space would be good enough for a kitchen and dining room.

Really appreciate your help.

For kitchen and dining yes. For your only living space no.

Is that where the kitchen currently is, or have the cooker/sink pics been added for effect? We have just spend nearly 3yrs renovating what had been a derelict property and removed a wall to make a kitchen/lounge/diner. Is that pic to scale? What is on the right hand wall? Windows? Do you have enough cupboard/wall space for the kitchen to be that end of the room?

Get large pieces of carboard/curtains or towels and measure out on the floor the size of the kitchen cabinets around the room, then also space for a table. It helps to visulise whether things will fit or not. You need to leave enough space around a table to comfortably move the chairs out to fit on, without banging into walls and other furniture. Once you add wall and floor cabinets, fridge/freeze, dishwasher etc, it will shrunk down. Were you thinking an actual dining table, or a breakfast bar? An extension table?
