Home insurance covering building work recommendations?

We're about to start a ground floor extension, c90k, and my home insurer won't cover me. I'm really struggling to find a firm that will - any names would be much appreciated.

We got a quote from a broker and it wasn't cheap but in the end, our insurance company screwed up and accidentally agreed to cover us - we had it on tape - so they didn't have a choice - we didn't need to claim.
