Has anyone experienced similar issues and did it impact/ stop your from buying or selling a house?
We’re buying a house but it turns out that we currently can’t progress to the exchange stage as the freehold must be transferred to the sellers first as someone around 30 years ago forgot to transfer the freehold title to the leasehold title owners.
It all sounds very complicated and we don’t fully understand it but our solicitor (who is brilliant by the way) advised this could take months so sort out and they also suggested we look for an alternative house in the meantime.. which would be absolutely heartbreaking as we fell in love with this one already.
Also in regards to the mortgage offer - it runs out in a couple of months time- are these easy to get extended?
