Would you complain about this roofing job?

Had our leaking flat garage roof redone (most of the joists replaced, new boards, new felt, new wooden fascias) by a local, recommended roofing company. He outsourced to a different company that specialises in flat roofs. They’ve done the roof and gone and it’s great EXCEPT it looks wonky in one corner (see pic)!! Is this normal or should I complain?! Is it too late to fix? 😭

I can’t see from the photo where rainwater drains from the roof? My worry would be that if a puddle forms in the middle this could lead to problems. I’m not an expert though, just going on past experience.

I'd pay for a surveyor to take a look and then go from there. The surveyor should not cost much to check a single thing that is easily accessible.

If it was the length of the building I'd understand it, to push rain down but not just a corner

@Flatroofissues Your pics show one of your kids
Might be worth asking for them to be taken down?

First thing I spotted..

@Flatroofissues that corner looks very odd have you called them and asked them to explain? Where is the drainage? I agree it doesn't seem right at all.

Flatroofissues · 05/07/2024 10:58

Thanks everyone. There’s going to be a gutter on the left hand side (as you look at pic) of the garage. There isn’t a dip or even such a weird dogleg in the actual roof - it seems to just be in the fascias (from what I can see).

I’ve asked the roofer to come back and look and he’s agreed that for next week, but I’m worried I’ll be fobbed off (my knowledge of this kind of thing is very limited!!!!)…

I just wonder if they've tried to install a slight slope, so water drains away. When we had the flat roof to our house installed, our roofer told us there is usually a very slight slope (not noticable) so water drains off - there are a couple of puddle areas but water does drip off the end into the gutter.

Take a hose pipe up to the roof and see where it drains away to.

That’s a great idea!!

That’s what I would have expected - a gradual slope all the way rather than a very visible angle in one corner 😵‍💫
