Double garage conversion costs

If anyone has had an attached double garage conversion in the last year how much did it cost?
We are in the process of buying a house and looking at options for a garage conversion into a playroom. We are planning to get our structural engineer to draw up some plans but wanted to get a rough ball park before.
We are in Scotland.

Have a double garage, plans drawn up to convert one side of it with raised roof (flat roof currently) and keep one side as garage. Costs were £35-45k, which was a bit of a shock. We're now looking at a lower level more minimal scheme.

In a similar boat so will park myself here if that's ok.

Have a look and ask on the Garage Conversion UK Facebook page. People in your area and contractors will be able to help. You might also get some ideas from it.

Earlier this year we paid £9.5k plus VAT to convert the back half of double attached garage. Included the knock through from inside the house, a single exterior glass door, one light pipe, electrics, two light pendants, plastering and installation of one radiator. Building regs were on top.

It is well insulated but fairly basic finish as we are using it as a mudroom/utility. It was part of wider building work we were having done and didn't include the removal of the garage door or a window as we converted the back half and left the front as storage, so costs may be more than double for the whole garage and a higher end finish if you plan to use as a reception room
