gutters: cleaning out plants causing blocks

Itsallsoboring · 28/06/2024 21:30

hi, how much will it cost to get someone to clean out my gutters? they are blocked in some places with plants and in two areas the gutter is dripping rain water.

i want to fix this as soon as possible but don't know what prices to expect. I'd do it myself but the house is quite tall (Edwardian with high ceilings).

The house is a semi-detached one. 1100 sq feet

You can probably get a quote online

My hairdresser’s husband (a roofer) just put a price online of £15 per 6 meters. Northwest.

By the way, sometimes window cleaners will do it for you for free.

But perhaps not when they’re at the level of growth yours are.

My window cleaner charges £40 to clear them out and another £40 if you want the plastic fascia cleaning too

That's good! I was £80 for a 4 bed house, front and back gutters.

I paid in April £100 to clean out the gutters and clean the outside (4 bed semi)

I’m in the South East. Recently had gutters, fascias and soffits cleaned, by hand. All guttering checked and repaired as necessary. 3 bed detached house with flat roof extension. Lots of guttering. Not been cleaned in about 6/7 years and it was vv bad. It cost £500 (inc windows, frames, sills).

Will be much cheaper next year though when he does it again.

DebtheSander · 29/06/2024 20:35

And yes, it was so bad that I had various plants growing in the gutters

NonmagicMike · 29/06/2024 20:40

Roll up your sleeves and do it yourself?

Big Edwardian semi detached, £350 from man with a hoist, he also repaired a couple of brackets and some other stuff.

3 bed detached, SW Yorkshire, £80 a few days ago. Our window cleaner does it.

Fairly big detached house SE, £80, and he put all the green waste in the garden bin for me
