Hi- our extension is about to begin but we've got a stumbling block about who is the principal designer. The architect says he has no more to do with the build, but equal the builder isn't keen to have the role. What do people do? Any help much appreciated.

What package did you sign up to with your architect? We have design and build so they provide the project manager too?
You can project manage yourself, but make sure you understand about site safety etc.
Or there are professional project managers who you can employ. So builders have them on their team, but not all. Though my parents employed a project manager and he then found all the other trades.
