Market looks very quiet right now. Are people waiting until the election? Should have been a very busy June in previous years.

It's absolutely dead. We have sold but cant find anything at all.

Bit different around Bristol. Loads of things coming on the market but nothing selling.
We've seen two houses we really like but can't forge ahead on either until we sell ours. I was worried that we'd lose them, that someone would snap them up, but apparently no one is snapping anything up and some places are not even getting any viewings.

We’ve got the same issue in Bristol. Lots of places come onto the market in the past few weeks which are exactly what we’re looking for but without an offer on our place in Bristol we can’t make any offers going forwards. Our buyer will likely be a first time one. Feels like almost a stalemate - I don’t have a problem with dropping the price on our place to get an offer but without prices coming down further up the chain we can’t afford to.

What bit of Bristol are you in @sofski91 ? We're just outside Bristol trying to move back in, looking in South Bristol. It is weird that every day there are new houses coming on the market but no-one's actually buying!
I hope it all changes post-election.

We have been on for nearly two weeks and when I spoke to my agent yesterday to see if there had been any interest I was told no but they are not expecting any until after the election now. Fingers crossed for us all things pick up in July!

@heldinadream we’re trying to sell in Clifton and buy in Bishopston/Redland. All usually very popular areas, when I bought 5 years ago it was a battle just to get a second viewing. It seems very slow at the moment, not necessarily a bad thing as it’s definitely less stressful/panicked!

It's super quiet in our area. I have a Rightmove saved search for our local area, just to be nosey and to see what's coming online. There have been four properties added in the last month and one of them (the cheapest) is sold.

My SIL would love to move, but she just can't face getting into it as you can't often view something round here without having your own property under offer, but nothing is coming on the market. It just seems a giant waste of everyone's time, so they've given up on the idea and are staying put for now.

That said, I work in a London suburb and anything that comes on the market round here at a reasonable price has a queue of people waiting to see it before it's even hit Rightmove.

I suspect Bristol has reached it's market level. We've a property to sell soon in Nailsea and properties here aren't hanging around, probably because it's cheaper than Bristol.
