Central Flat vs Bigger Flat

Would you rather

A) Zone 1 one bedroom flat, no garden, only loo through bedroom, old fashioned kitchen & bathroom

B) Zone 2 two bedroom flat, garden, modern bathroom and kitchen

Both cost £2k a month in rent

Zone 2 flat. Walking through the bedroom to the loo in Zone 1 flat? Absolutely not. Zone 2 in more than central enough to walk most places.

loudbatperson · 26/06/2024 09:46

Zone 2, because of the bathroom through the bedroom if nothing else. If you have visitors and one of you is having a lay in or sick in bed, the toilet thing will be very annoying.

Zone 2 has many lovey spots, and you're still able to get to all the fun parts of London easily and quickly.

Zone 2. Especially if its a part of zone 2 that is still walkable into central. I lived in a zone 1 flat with no balcony / garden for a while and for me, the proximity of being central didn't outweigh the lack of outside space to relax in after work.

Zone 2 - garden

Only bathroom through bedroom? Absolutely not

Westfacing · 26/06/2024 12:52

Zone 2 is also very central!

Worth it to have some outside space

Twiglets1 · 26/06/2024 12:53

Zone 2

SD25 · 26/06/2024 12:55

I think I’d probably want a bit more information than just what zone they’re in :-)

nc14 · 26/06/2024 12:56

Zone 2 depending what area it is.

Iliketulips · 26/06/2024 14:26

Zone 2 sounds better, but what's the immediate area like? What can you walk to you'd like on your doorstep?

piglet81 · 26/06/2024 14:38

Flat B sounds much nicer, but where are they both?

Oleo24 · 26/06/2024 14:46

Zone 2!

lapeern · 26/06/2024 21:25

Zone 1, because I love being properly central. The flat doesn't sound ideal, but in a 1 bed you won't be having many visitors who'll need the loo - we always met up in bars and pubs and never hosted at home. The only thing that persuaded me to move out to zone 2 was schools, and it doesn't sound like a factor for you.

cestlavielife · 26/06/2024 21:26

Which part zone 1 central camden or ? and which zone 2? Catford vs west hampstead?

DeborahVance · 26/06/2024 21:27

Zone 1, but would depend a bit on the area.

Carebearsonmybed · 26/06/2024 22:26

I wouldn't spend that on rent. I'd stay in the cheapest possibly place until I could buy.

cestlavielife · 27/06/2024 15:45

TemuSpecialBuy · 27/06/2024 15:51
