Lifting kitchen lino after washing machine leak , before I moved in I was told there was asbestos tiles in the kitchen which had been removed (council property) the lino was down when I moved in so I never questioned it until now .

From googling these look very similar to asbestos ones I have seen , should I be concerned? Scared to continue with the flooring will call council first thing tomorrow .
It looks like they have been covered with plaster type materials that is lifting up with the lino 😬.

The picture is too fuzzy to see what sort of tiles they are.

Hmm, yes that's possible. Don't panic though - just stop what you're doing for now. By all means hoover / remove rubbish, just don't try to pry up the tiles - the asbestos is not an issue if it's undamaged

They do look like Marley (or similar) tiles, which do often contain asbestos, as does the bitumen adhesive they're stuck down with. They are very low risk if left undisturbed, and I'm guessing they've had some sort of screed applied to seal/hide them. You (or your flooring fitters) could just pour some self-levelling screed to fill the gaps where you've lifted the screed before you lay new vinyl flooring.

Potentially, yes. I have some under my flooring but they are red. It's ok for them to be there but you shouldn't try to take them up. I think they are low risk but it's best to lay new flooring on top of them.
