I'm doing an open house type thing on Saturday, so far only 3 people booked to view. House went live on Saturday.

We had five viewings in 6 months. how long is a piece of string

OhFensa · 24/06/2024 16:16

depends where you are in the country and how big your target market is. I only got one viewing a week, suburbs of manchester. i sold after four viewings though.

carguide24 · 24/06/2024 16:17

if 3 have booked
expect 2 to drop out

first week is critical for gauging whether asking price is accurate or not

CraftyNavySeal · 24/06/2024 16:18

It’s only been on the market 2 days and this weekend people were probably out instead of looking on Zoopla.

3 viewings from 2 days on the market is good

and then sold? had you reduce price in that 6 months?

Yep and no sold for full asking price

obviously you weren’t in a hurry to sell!

That's a 'how long is a price of string' question.

We had four estate agents value. All gave a range. We marketed at the top of the highest range - because having watched the market that is what I thought it would sell for.

EA booked three viewings before the house went on Right Move (from buyers on their books). One offered at asking price. We accepted.

With hindsight, we probably could have had a higher asking price. But what we lost by not being greedy, we gained by significantly reduced stress and worry waiting for an offer.

Ok so it's been on Rightmove 4 days now and have 5 viewings for Saturday. Hoping that's decent, we're desperate to sell so hoping there're positive!

How did it go OP? We've not yet gone live on rightmove but have had or will have had by Friday 4 off market viewings. Hoping to go live in the next day or two.

@kirinm
We sold to our 6th viewer and that was within 3 weeks. We only did viewings on a Saturday too
