Apologies because I have already posted similar on a different board... I suppose I could just do with a bit of a whinge and maybe some camaraderie! Anyone else stressed to the gills about selling and moving? (I do fully appreciate that this a first world problem - equally I'm getting really overwhelmed and almost had a full blown panic attack last night...)
In a nutshell our vendor is being very sketchy, saying one thing to us (that he won't move into rented) and telling the Estate agents something different. He has had an offer rejected on the place he wanted to buy (which he informed us it took him 3 years to find) and it's been radio silence for the past 2 weeks. No paperwork to solicitors and not answering sales progressions calls. He has told the EA that there has been a bereavement in the family which if the case is totally understandable... however I have a niggling feeling that he is just playing for time. We have said we won't have survey or pay for checks until the chain is complete and have resumed looking for a house. Also for fun our mortgage has been approved but downvalued the house by 30k!!
In the meantime the sale of our house is going forwards. The problem is that there is very little on the market which suits our needs and I'm worried if our intended purchase falls through we won't find anywhere else and all the stress will be for nothing! We want to move as we have outgrown our current house and I've gone back to work full time so have more income to play with.
We looked around what could be an amazing house today but it's over budget and needs loads of work (not just cosmetic...would need new central heating, double glazing and part of the roof replaced to be habitable in winter...).
I'm just struggling so much with the uncertainty and the endless stress and paperwork. I can't get excited about the house we have our offer on and it all feels a bit... not worth it!!!
