Tiling a bath panel in different tiles to the wall

Has anyone done this - does it look nice? We have small square white tiles on wall over bath, but I’m thinking of just using a few massive white tiles for the panel.

im trying to refresh the bathroom without retiling it all, basically - but we def need to replace the bath panel

Not sure I'd do it in white.. it might look like you tried to match it but it didn't quite work.

What about a contrasting colour? Or tiles that look like wood? Or the same as the floor?

For various reasons, I actually have different tiling in my bathroom, so 2 x walls are one sort and then bath wall etc is a different sort. This looks OK IMHO

Yeah, I did wonder about the tiles being same colour. I’m not a fan of coloured tiles but maybe I can look into it.

i was going to replace it with a birch panel (we have cupboards in birch) but birch is so expensive

I just googled 'wood effect wall tiles'. Some are gorgeous.

Fb marketplace is great for small quantities of tiles if you can pick up. Small traders selling end of lines.
