We have cash buyers for our house so are able to proceed. Market is very slow and we are having real trouble finding an onwards purchase. There is a house that has been on the market for a year. Originally listed at £750k and gradually reduced to £685k. It's been at the reduced price for over 3 months. The house needs general modernisation and hasn't been touched since it was bought in 2013 for £400k. Now houses in that immediate area do go for over £700k but they are all done up with big fancy kitchen extensions. Would an offer of £600k be too cheeky?

You can offer whatever you feel the house is worth. The price is just a guide and they can only say no or try and negotiate with you. I can't see them accepting that offer but are you prepared to go higher if they don't?

It was listed at 750k a year ago- do you really think they will accept 600k?

Offer what you like but you must recognise it’s very, very unlikely. If they were prepared to accept 600k they should have it listed at about 625k.

Offer whatever it's worth to you, it's not a question of being cheeky. It's very unlikely that they will accept 600k but they might try to negotiate or they might call you if they have had no other offers in another 2 or 3 months.

Only way to find op is to suggest it 😊 I think if it's been on the market that long there's definitely room to be cheeky with a low offer

Offer £600 and they may come back with £625.
