Woodford Green vs South Woodford to raise children

Hi everyone,
My husband and I are looking to move to Woodford Green. I have heard north of the rails is the better part, and to avoid south of the rails.
Would anyone have any details in why that is? Is it safe?
Alternatively, we are also looking at the South Woodford area and are wondering if there are considerable pros to one vs the other in terms of a place to start a family.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'm having the same thoughts... wonder where did you buy in the end? And what was your conclusions to Woodford Green North and South of the tracks?
