Garden shed standing advice please

We are planning to put a slim shed down the side of our house. Our handyman says it can go on level gravel on a frame - but I thought you had to put a shed on hard standing?

I'm just interested to hear what the optimal approach is.

Not sure about the ideal, but gravel is fine as long as it's compacted and won't move too much. If it moves then you risk the shed base not being stable. I've used concrete kerbs/lintels previously, laid in a line and then the shed popped on top. The kerbs being long length meant that weight was distributed evenly.
