Misaligned new front door? Help?!

Hi, Looking for advice as I have anxiety regarding a new front door I've had installed. The planning and waiting for this door has been months and now I'm really not feeling good as feel it has been hung too high?!

To open the door doesn't feel natural ie the handle seems too high. There is 3 inches at the bottom therefore I feel its an unatural step over the door and a trip hazard for family/guests old and young.

The fitter was nice and maybe struggled to fit it but I'm also worried there is wood visible under the outside ledge and if that was to rot it wouldn't last. Help/advice please. I haven't paid yet although signed the door off as I was working and needed to see a patient who was waiting on a home visit. It is a lot of money and I dont want it perfect just good enough.. I think I miss my crummy old door!

That doesn't look like the correct threshold for a front door- you could usually have something flush with an exterior overhang. And I agree re the wood underneath (sometimes slate is used).
I would ask the measurer/company head to return, and don't pay until you are satisfied.

Maybe you need to builld a step outside? Is the door composite or solid wood? Does it have a brand name?
