Builder quote without material

Taking quotes from multiple builders for some work in my new house (plastering, painting, laminate flooring mainly). The trouble is, one quote came with no 'hidden' material costs so it will be extra for plaster, paint rollers, skip hire, etc. And anything needed for laminate flooring like underlays and beading. I asked him how much all of that will be and he hasn't got back.

Does anyone know (very approximately) how much the hidden materials are in relation to labour? For say a 10K labour cost, is 6K a reasonable assumption?

That is not a proper quote and would not accept it as one. Without details for materials- quantities, prices per meter etc it is strictly meaningless.
Tell the builder if he is seriously interested in the job you need complete details , otherwise they can charge you outrageous amounts for supplies.

I would reject it outright.
