Particularly interested if you've had one for a while.. how does it perform long term?

Love the idea of no kettle on the work top but they are very £££

Love mine. Had it 2.5 years.

MummyJ12 · 08/06/2024 20:03

Definite yay! Love mine too. We put one in our previous house and loved it. Then when we moved in here, they had an imitation hot tap. It was nowhere near as good as a Quooker and it was one of the first things we changed! Go for it, you won’t regret it.

Spangler · 08/06/2024 20:04

Wouldn’t be without mine. Had it over three years and no issues with it.

BalloonsStreamers · 08/06/2024 20:09

Love mine, what I especially like is turning the cold water on, then adding in the boiling water to make it very hot water coming out of the tap so I can clean out a pan or something easily without running the actual hot tap and waiting a minute for the hot water to come through wasting precious clean drinking water to do it.

The whole filling a pan with boiling water for pasta or veg or making a drink is easy. If you know someone who has one (which I did) ask to see theirs in action.

Avacadoandtoast · 08/06/2024 20:09

Love it!! Would get one again if we were to move. Had ours 4 years.

Houseplanter · 08/06/2024 20:37

Thank you. I am tempted. I don't know anyone who has one to see one in action but they do appeal. So expensive though; they need to be good!

Had a Quooker 5 years and still going strong. Use it multiple times every day. Never had a problem with it. When I visit family I remember how long it takes to boil a kettle😆I would buy again without hesitation if it was within budget.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 08/06/2024 20:38

How much are they?

ANiceCuppaTeaandBiscuit · 08/06/2024 20:42

Have had one 4 years and wouldn’t be without one now. It’s just so handy.

Irishmama100 · 08/06/2024 20:44

have had for over two years and just love it!
expensive but worth it !

KhakiHam · 08/06/2024 20:54

Love mine too and wanted a Quooker over the less superior brands. Bought one on eBay and my plumber fitted it

Houseplanter · 08/06/2024 21:08

They're about £1k

Love mine 👍

OttersAreMySpiritAnimal · 08/06/2024 21:13

Hated it. Moved into a house that had one. Needs maintenance and a change of filter once annually, or twice if you are in a hard water area.
It was convenient when it was working but was in no way worth the maintenance cost. Would rather buy a lovely kettle.

Adventurewillresumesoon · 08/06/2024 21:17

We have had a Qettle tap fitted this week. Loving it so far.

astonssandboxisalittertray · 08/06/2024 21:18

Brilliant if you can afford the outlay and upkeep. Love ours (we have two Blush), also had one in previous house. Hate going back to kettle in holiday places.
So quick and easy both for hot drinks and for cooking veg etc.
In a high end kitchen, people would expect a boiling water tap. Just so much more convenient t and smart.

astonssandboxisalittertray · 08/06/2024 21:20

Oh long term: just replaced ours after 12 years in the house. One wasn't even busy but they were version 1 Quooker so they don't repair any more. We replaced both in one go for minimal hassle.

astonssandboxisalittertray · 08/06/2024 21:21

(Not busy bust!)

Pombearprincess · 08/06/2024 21:21

I've had mine 9 years and still works perfectly. I would buy another in a heartbeat.

Lordofmyflies · 09/06/2024 17:50

Just having our kitchen refurbed. The advice for our Kitchen designer is not to go for the one that does sparkling water as the canisters are a pain to change, but the standard taps are great.

HarridansOfUsAll · 09/06/2024 17:54

Not a chance. I've never owned one, but rented a house for a year with one. Bad tea and coffee if that matters to you, which it does to me, but the people who own them are often so evangelical about them, it's hard to say 'I'll only have tea if it's not made with your Quooker, because it never tastes right'. It's like denying to divinity of Jesus to the Jehovah Witnesses on your doorstep.

Plus, of course, they've got rid of their kettles....

BIWI · 09/06/2024 17:54

I love mine - BUT we had to have a repair within the first couple of years. Thankfully under warranty. And just this year (almost 5 years after having it installed) had to pay £200 to have a new filter unit fitted.

I wouldn't be without it, but I might explore other brands. Possibly we've been unlucky!

Radiatorvalves · 09/06/2024 17:55

Love it. Was here when we moved in about 12 years ago and it’s still going strong. They send kits on request so you can service it yourself (my husband does that) and it costs nothing! If they do it I think it’s pricey.

Secretvet · 09/06/2024 17:56

Love mine and wouldn’t be without it now. We had it put in 3 years ago and are in a hard water area. It’s a Quooker, and has never caused a problem.

Lovethatforyouhun · 09/06/2024 18:57

Those who hated it, did you change the filters and maintain it correctly?

5 years in would highly recommend.
