Rental property inspection

I’ve been in my first rental property for six months and the letting agent has just informed me that they will be doing a property inspection this month.

what does this involve? I’m planning to tidy up the garden, clean the bathroom and hoover/dust throughout but cba to go too crazy with it.

That sounds fine. They want to see clean and tidy, ask if there are any issues that need fixing, nothing broken etc. I always stress and they're fine in real life. If you don't live like a total slob you'll be ok!

They don't care about how tidy it is. They don't care if you have dusted. They just want to check there is no damage. Don't spend hours tidying the place up - they don't care about that and have seen properties 10 times more messy than yours.

And remember it is not just a 1-way process. If there are any problems with the house tell the agent.

They are just coming to check you haven’t kicked holes in walls, moved a family of twelve in and are keeping llamas and smoking in it.

Just get it tidy and clean to the best of your ability but do not go mad.

I’m worried about being a nuisance tenant though as there is so much demand for rental properties
