Moving to coast-ish

I am currently in the South East and am looking to find somewhere to buy. House prices down here are ridiculous so I am looking further afield to find an area that is either rural-ish or within 40 minutes of the coast but still access to a town within 15 minutes - ideally 4 bedrooms for under 475k. Is this even remotely possible? Whereabouts in England would you recommend?

We’ve moved the North Yorkshire, near Easingwold. Lovely market town, 20 minutes to beautiful York for shopping and with an hour of pretty much anywhere in Yorkshire: dales, moor and coast

It depends what sort of thing you're looking for but these are an idea of what's around mid Somerset

Well prices won’t stay low will they ! York and environs is getting to the point where locals can’t afford to live here. Fine if you can pay your mortgage off by moving up north but a bit tone deaf 🙄
Not sure how you’re getting to York from Easingwold but it’s not by car !

Just to be clear…we moved from a cheaper area up North to North Yorkshire…and definitely don’t clear our mortgage—we doubled it!

Lovely house but the upstairs is giving off Neapolitan ice cream vibes with all those pastels 😂
